New-look Honda Classic Cars
Honda Classic Cars is for first generation of Honda Civic, Accord, Prelude and Jazz cars
Honda cars from the 1970’s and early 1980’s are now starting to become appreciated as classic cars in the UK and elsewhere.
The 70's and 80's were a very important period for Honda as the company grew and became recognised as a world-class auto manufacturer. The Civic of 1972 was a landmark car that established Honda in many markets; a car that was well designed and well built and demonstrated the flair and innovation that Honda was to maintain in later models.
Honda cars had integrity of design and manufacture that set them apart from other manufacturers of the time, even other Japanese makers. In general Japanese cars were considered inferior to the domestic products and had to overcome considerable prejudice. Honda were one of the first makers to overcome this hurdle - contemporary road tests often remarking they were comparable to European manufacturers in terms of design, performance and handling. Honda set a marker with high standards of manufacture and reliability, qualities that appealed to buyers then and now.
Honda Classic Cars encourages interest in these early Honda cars. This site is based in Britain and features UK specification cars but Hondas were exported all over the world in basically the same form. Japanese cars generally are still a minority interest within the classic car movement, although interest is starting to increase. We hope that by demonstrating how accomplished these attractive cars are people will be encouraged to preserve and cherish them. They are an interesting alternative to more mainstream British and European classics - by maintaining them for future generations we ensure an often forgotten corner of motoring history is maintained for the future.
